Il Meeting alla riscoperta del “Museo dell’Acciuga e delle arti marinare”, si è egregiamente svolto nell’omonima struttura ubicata nella frazione marinara del comune di Bagheria denominata Aspra, ed è un luogo incantato, unico nel suo genere in tutto il mediterraneo, un luogo dove grazie alle fantastiche narrazioni di Michelangelo BALISTRERI abbiamo vissuto in prima persona un viaggio indietro nel tempo, unico esclusivo ed emozionante.
Ci siamo inizialmente ritrovati sabato pomeriggio al Resort “CASE VARISCO” dove i gentilissimi padroni di casa Bartolo e Cinzia ci hanno accolti facendoci sentire sin da subito come a casa, offrendoci di tutto, dalle bibite ai salatini sino ad arrivare agli squisiti cannoli di ricotta di loro produzione con amari e caffè a volontà a cui è poi seguita un’ottima cena.
Domenica mattina dopo un’abbondantissima colazione, tutti in marcia verso Aspra, dove sono confluiti gli altri equipaggi più vicini al luogo previsto per il Meeting.
Il Museo dell’Acciuga, come già avevamo avuto modo di scoprire due anni fa con la precedente visita è un luogo unico nel suo genere creato con passione e amore dai fratelli Girolamo e Michelangelo BALISTRERI che nel tempo hanno raccolto con infinita cura elementi dell’arte marinara sia dell’azienda di famiglia che di molti opifici operanti nell’intera Sicilia e non solo.
Abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza che consigliamo vivamente di fare, perché vi ritroverete ad effettuare un viaggio unico nel suo genere, esclusivo ed emozionante tra documenti attrezzi ed oggetti che fotografano e documentano in maniera egregia secoli di procedimenti della salagione del pesce in Sicilia, ed è stato concepito come un luogo vivo ed in continua evoluzione, difatti abbiamo trovato tantissime novità e cambiamenti che lo hanno reso ancor più fruibile ed appassionante, rendendolo ancor di più una straordinaria pagina dell’identità siciliana delle sue marinerie e dei prodotti lavorati della pesca artigianale mediterranea.
A visita ultimata siamo ritornati a Case Varisco dove abbiamo gustato le specialità locali grazie al gustosissimo ed abbondante menù che Cinzia con i suoi chef ha espressamente elaborato per noi, lasciandoci pienamente soddisfatti. (troveremo il modo per ritornarci).
Ed anche questo Meeting dopo il pranzo è giunto al termine, e sempre con un lieve velo di tristezza ci ritroviamo a salutarci, dopo aver trascorso due bellissimi giorni insieme…..ma siamo già pronti a rivederci tra meno di un mese per il prossimo Meeting del Club, e stavolta tocca al meeting più adrenalinico dell’anno…..lo Smart Time Attack nello splendido circuito della “Valle dei Templi” a Racalmuto il 14 e 15 Ottobre. NON MANCATE!!!!!
The Meeting to the rediscovery of the “Museum of Anchovy and Maritime Arts”, took place very well in the homonymous structure located in the seaside village of the municipality of Bagheria called Aspra, and is an enchanted place, unique in its kind throughout the Mediterranean, a place where thanks to the fantastic narrations of Michelangelo BALISTRERI we experienced firsthand a journey back in time, unique exclusive and exciting.
We initially met on Saturday afternoon at the Resort “CASE VARISCO” where the very kind hosts Bartolo and Cinzia welcomed us making us feel immediately at home, offering us everything, from drinks to pretzels up to the exquisite ricotta cannoli of their production with bitters and coffee at will which was then followed by an excellent dinner.
Sunday morning after a hearty breakfast, everyone marched towards Aspra, where the other crews closest to the place scheduled for the Meeting converged.
The Anchovy Museum, as we had already discovered two years ago with the previous visit, is a unique place of its kind created with passion and love by the brothers Girolamo and Michelangelo BALISTRERI who over time have collected with infinite care elements of the maritime art both of the family business and of many factories operating throughout Sicily and beyond.
We have lived an experience that we highly recommend to do, because you will find yourself making a unique journey of its kind, exclusive and exciting between documents, tools and objects that photograph and document in an excellent way centuries of salting fish in Sicily, and was conceived as a living and constantly evolving place, in fact we found many news and changes that made it even more usable and exciting, making it even more an extraordinary page of the Sicilian identity of its navy and processed products of Mediterranean artisanal fishing.
At the end of the visit we returned to Case Varisco where we tasted the local specialties thanks to the tasty and abundant menu that Cinzia with her chefs has expressly elaborated for us, leaving us fully satisfied. (we will find a way back).
And also this Meeting after lunch has come to an end, and always with a slight veil of sadness we find ourselves saying goodbye, after spending two beautiful days together ….. but we are already ready to meet again in less than a month for the next Club Meeting, and this time it’s up to the most adrenaline meeting of the year ….. the Smart Time Attack in the splendid circuit of the “Valley of the Temples” in Racalmuto on 14 and 15 October. DON’T MISS IT!!!!
