Ed eccoci a Meeting concluso a raccontarvi la bellissima esperienza vissuta con il secondo meeting dell’anno che ci ha portato a visitare la bellissima Ragusa Ibla!!!
Una parte degli equipaggi partecipanti provenienti dalle Province di Palermo e Caltanissetta sono arrivati a Marina di Ragusa già sabato pomeriggio, alloggiando all’Hotel Baia del Sole e, dopo una lunga passeggiata sul bellissimo lungomare ed una sosta al porto turistico, si sono spostati a Santa Croce Camerina per cenare nell’Agriturismo “Il Giardino di Bianca” dove già lo scorso anno avevamo gustato i loro prelibatissimi piatti.
Domenica mattina, raggiunti dagli altri equipaggi provenienti dalle province di Palermo, Catania, Siracusa e Ragusa abbiamo raggiunto la nostra destinazione finale, Ragusa Ibla, che è il cuore barocco della città e probabilmente la sua parte più affascinante.
Già patrimonio dell’umanità è un concentrato di meraviglie architettoniche unico nel suo genere.
Grazie alla nostra preparatissima guida Maria Concetta RIZZO ci siamo districati tra il maestoso Duomo di San Giorgio ed i suoi maestosi palazzi nobiliari che si susseguono decorati con fantastici ed elaborati mascheroni barocchi, l’elegantissimo e curatissimo Circolo di Conversazione, l’antico Portale di San Giorgio ed abbiamo percorso i vicoli, le scalinate ed i belvederi panoramici che rendono questa località unica nel suo genere, uno scrigno di rara bellezza tutta da scoprire così come la chiesa di San Vincenzo Fermi caratterizzata da un bellissimo tetto ligneo e da un campanile decorato con maioliche colorate e con una splendida meridiana dipinta sul prospetto, ed il grande e curatissimo Giardino Ibleo assolutamente da visitare per godere delle innumerevoli piante mediterranee ed esemplari esotici ivi presenti e le fontane con i loro giochi d’acqua.
Al suo interno abbiamo anche visitato una delle tre chiese presenti, la Chiesa di S. Agata con annesso il convento dei Frati Cappuccini, che ospita un piccolo albergo, la Scuola d’Arte Culinaria ed un ristorante.
A fine visita abbiamo raggiunto la rinomatissima Villa FORTUGNO, dove abbiamo gustato i sapori del territorio grazie all’elaborato menù creato appositamente per l’occasione.
E siamo quindi giunti alla conclusione di questi due giorni fantastici che hanno arricchito le nostre conoscenze della bellissima regione in cui viviamo, e siamo pronti a salutarci per il rientro a casa.
Appuntamento quindi per il prossimo meeting che si terrà a Santa Margherita Belice il 30 e 31 Maggio per un “Viaggio nei luoghi del Gattopardo, tra ricordi e realtà”.
And here we are, with the meeting concluded, to tell you about the beautiful experience we had with the second meeting of the year, which took us to visit the beautiful Ragusa Ibla!!!
A part of the participating crews coming from the provinces of Palermo and Caltanissetta had already arrived in Marina di Ragusa on Saturday afternoon, staying at the Hotel Baia del Sole, and after a long walk on the beautiful seafront and a stop at the tourist port, they moved to Santa Croce Camerina to have dinner at the ‘Il Giardino di Bianca’ agritourism, where we had already tasted their delicious dishes last year.
Sunday morning, joined by other crews coming from the provinces of Palermo, Catania, Syracuse, and Ragusa, we reached our final destination, Ragusa Ibla, which is the baroque heart of the city and probably its most fascinating part.
Already a World Heritage Site, it is a concentration of architectural wonders unique of its kind. Thanks to our very well-prepared guide, Maria Concetta RIZZO, we navigated between the majestic Duomo of San Giorgio and its majestic noble palaces that follow one another, decorated with fantastic and elaborate baroque masks, the elegant and well-kept Conversation Club, the ancient Portal of San Giorgio, and we walked through the alleys, staircases, and panoramic viewpoints that make this place unique, a treasure chest of rare beauty to be discovered, just like the church of San Vincenzo Ferreri, characterized by a beautiful wooden roof and a bell tower decorated with colored majolica and a splendid sundial painted on the facade, and the large and well-kept Ibleo Garden, absolutely worth visiting to enjoy the countless Mediterranean plants and exotic specimens present there, as well as the fountains with their water features. Inside, we also visited one of the three churches present, the Church of St. Agatha with the attached Capuchin Friars’ convent, which houses a small hotel, the Culinary Arts School, and a restaurant.
At the end of the visit, we reached the renowned Villa FORTUGNO, where we enjoyed the flavors of the territory thanks to the elaborate menu created specifically for the occasion. And so we have reached the conclusion of these two fantastic days that have enriched our knowledge of the beautiful region in which we live, and we are ready to say goodbye to return home.
Appointment, therefore, for the next meeting which will be held in Santa Margherita Belice on May 30th and 31st for a ‘Journey into the places of the Leopard, between memories and reality’.
