SMART FAMILY MEET 2024
Lo Smart Family Meet è l’incontro degli smartisti dei club europei, e non solo, che si svolge ogni anno in una nazione diversa.
Il 2024 ha visto protagonista dell’evento l’Italia, ed in particolare la Sicilia, difatti abbiamo avuto “l’onore e l’onere” di organizzarlo qui dal 12 al 14 Luglio tra le province di Palermo ed Agrigento, con una festa di benvenuto per i partecipanti che si è tenuta giovedì 11 Luglio a Contessa Entellina, sede del nostro Club.
Giorno 1, 11 Luglio 2024:
Si inizia con lo studio e la preparazione dei gadget relativi al meeting, oltre ai vari sopralluoghi effettuati nei luoghi che abbiamo poi visitato durante il meeting.
Ringraziamo per la riuscita delle attività del giorno il Sig. Sindaco di Contessa Entellina Dott. Leonardo SPERA, il Consigliere Comunale Dott. Alfonso COLLETTI ed il Comandante della Polizia Municipale Ispettore Capo Luciano AIOSA per la loro grande disponibilità e collaborazione, il Presidente della locale Pro Loco Alessandra SCIAMBRA ed il segretario Giovanni ZARBA che con la loro attivissima partecipazione hanno consentito la preparazione e la mescita delle degustazioni durante la festa di benvenuto, e non per ultimo il nostro ringraziamento va alle aziende locali che hanno partecipato con i loro prodotti, che possiamo annoverare tra le eccellenze del territorio, che tutti hanno avuto modo di gustare, le Aziende vinicole COLLETTI, GIALLO e FILARI DELLA ROCCA, i Caseifici “AZIENDA AGRICOLA COSTIERE” dei fratelli LALA e il “FEUDO POLLICHINO”, L’Azienda TERRE DI ENTELLA, L’azienda Agricola di D’AGOSTINO Irene che produce localmente lo “ZAFFERANO”, il Panificio “DUA BUKE”, il Ristorante “6° SENSO”, e le altre attività locali che ci hanno supportato, “DELIZIE SOTTOZERO”, “FERRAMENTA DA PAOLA”, il “BAR ENTELLA”, la rivendita tabacchi “D.M.” e l’Azienda “CONTESSA VACANZE BYRON”.
Ed un ulteriore ringraziamento va ai cittadini di Contessa Entellina, che grazie al loro voto ci hanno permesso di aggiudicarci il finanziamento relativo alla Democrazia Partecipata 2023 che ci ha consentito di realizzare la festa di benvenuto.
Giorno 2, 12 Luglio 2024:
Punto di incontro della giornata allo “Spiazzo Greco” dove tutti i partecipanti hanno effettuato la visita guidata della locale “CHIESA GRECA” grazie al supporto della locale associazione “VIVERE SLOW” il cui presidente Dott. Antonino MONTALBANO ringraziamo per la collaborazione e la Dott.ssa Anna FUCARINO che ha egregiamente illustrato ( sia in lingua italiana che in lingua Inglese) gli usi e costumi della nostra “Comunità Arbresche” (Contessa Entellina è una comunità di origini Albanesi) e le particolarità uniche della predetta chiesa.
Abbiamo quindi raggiunto l’Abbazia di Santa Maria del Bosco, ed anche li visita guidata del bellissimo monastero (in ambedue le lingue).
Altra tappa di trasferimento per raggiungere il “CASEIFICIO PASINI” dove Alessia PASINI ed il suo staff ci hanno accolto e fatto degustare le prelibatezze del loro territorio.
A fine pranzo, trasferimento nella Cittadina di “SAMBUCA”, eletta “BORGO DEI BORGHI 2016) dove grazie alle due guide (una in lingua italiana ed una in lingua inglese) abbiamo effettuato un interessantissimo percorso alla scoperta dei capolavori artistici e museali del luogo ed infine incontrato il Sig. Sindaco Dott. Giuseppe CACIOPPO ed il suo staff che oltre a dare il benvenuto ai partecipanti, ha loro offerto un graditissimo rinfresco facendo degustare il dolce tipico locale “le minne di vergine” accompagnate dagli ottimi vini locali.
Ultima tappa della giornata al Ristorante “ANTICO MULINO” dove Enzo ed il suo staff ci hanno deliziato con un menù appositamente elaborato per l’occasione.
Giorno 3, 13 Luglio 2024:
Punto di incontro iniziale nel Comune di CAMPOFIORITO. Li siamo stati accolti dal Sig. Sindaco Dott. Giuseppe ODDO e dalla Consigliera Comunale Tiziana CONTE, che ci hanno offerto un graditissimo rinfresco a base di bibite e squisiti dolci di mandorla prodotti artigianalmente dalla ditta “CICIO” e dopo una purtroppo brevissima visita al centro storico ci siamo trasferiti nella Città di CORLEONE.
Esposte le auto nella piazza principale della Città, dove il Comandante della Polizia Locale Dott. Leoluca CORTIMIGLIA con i suoi uomini e donne avevano già predisposto un’apposita area per la sosta delle auto partecipanti, ed abbiamo effettuato le visite guidate al Museo civico ed al “Centro di Documentazione Antimafia” C.I.D.M.A. dove le espertissime guide (sia in lingua italiana che inglese) chi hanno sapientemente trasportato indietro nel tempo, facendoci vivere quanto accaduto al tempo della “guerra di mafia” e del successivo “Maxi Processo”, lasciando i partecipanti del tutto entusiasti della visita, ed il nostro particolare ringraziamento va al suo Presidente Dott. Claudio DI PALERMO, che ci ha entusiasticamente supportato nell’organizzazione delle visite.
Subito dopo all’interno del Palazzo di Città siamo stati accolti dal Sig. Sindaco di CORLEONE, Dott. Walter RA, che ci ha anche offerto un graditissimo spuntino di benvenuto a base di specialità locali e bibite.
Dopo l’incontro, a bordo delle nostre auto abbiamo attraversato tutto il centro storico della Città e raggiunto il “FEUDO POLLARA”, rinomatissima Azienda Vinicola denominata “PRINCIPE DI CORLEONE” dove abbiamo effettuato un’interessantissima visita guidata della cantina, anche qui sia in lingua italiana che inglese apprendendo così tutti i passaggi relativi alla produzione ed all’imbottigliamento dei loro squisiti vini, con degustazione finale degli stessi accompagnati da una degustazione dei prodotti tipici locali con un corposo menu’ appositamente realizzato per noi dal loro chef che ringraziamo insieme ad uno dei titolari dell’azienda, il Dott. Pietro POLLARA che ci ha ampiamente collaborato durante tutte le fasi che ci hanno portato alla realizzazione della visita.
Ci siamo quindi impegnati ad affrontare il “trasferimento più lungo del meeting”, e dalla tenuta di Principe di Corleone abbiamo raggiunto la Città di Agrigento, dove ad attendere il nostro arrivo erano presenti il Signor Sindaco Dott. Francesco MICCICHE’ e l’Assessore alla Viabilità Dott. Carmelo CANTONE che hanno elogiato l’iniziativa ringraziandoci per aver scelto la Città di AGRIGENTO, che sarà la Capitale della Cultura 2025 all’interno del nostro Meeting Internazionale.
Quindi esposte le nostre Smart sulla centralissima “Piazza MARCONI” siamo stati raggiunti dai componenti dell’Associazione “TAMMURA DI GIRGENTI” (Tamburi di Agrigento), famosissimo gruppo folkloristico che si è esibito in tantissimi prestigiosi luoghi nel mondo che ci ha accolto donandoci, d’intesa con il Dott. Carmelo CANTONE una loro esclusiva esibizione dapprima dal palco e successivamente tra le nostre vetture ed il nostro ringraziamento va al loro Presidente Biagio LICATA.
Ultimo piccolo trasferimento per raggiungere l’Hotel TRE TORRI in località Villaggio Mosè, dove sono stati organizzati sia la cena che il pernottamento per tutti i partecipanti, ed una piccola festicciola con musica dal vivo a bordo piscina dopo cena, ed un particolare ringraziamento per la loro squisita disponibilità e cortesia va al Dott. Paolo PULLARA ed al suo staff, con in capo il gentilissimo Gioacchino che ha curato personalmente tutte le prenotazioni unitamente al loro staff.
Giorno 4, 14 Luglio 2024:
Dall’Hotel TRE TORRI di Villaggio Mosè raggiungiamo la località di “RACALMUTO” dove ha sede “L’AUTODROMO DEL SOLE” detto anche “AUTODROMO VALLE DEI TEMPLI” e li in nostra attesa c’è il nostro ormai consolidato collaboratore del Sicilia Smart Club per ciò che attiene i nostri meeting annuali in pista.
Il nostro carissimo “Amico” Dott. Michelangelo ROMANO, ci ha fatto trovare tutto pronto, dai box allestiti per le nostre vetture a tutto ciò che sarebbe servito da li a poco per la nostra giornata in pista, e dopo aver ritirato ed installato sulle vetture i “TRANSPODER” per la rilevazione dei tempi in pista, ci siamo divertiti a girare all’interno del circuito.
Sul posto presenti gli altri partner dell’evento, il Presidente dell’Automobile Club Italia, Dott. Salvatore BELLANCA e la Direttrice Dott. Giusy DANILE che con il loro staff hanno predisposto la presenza di due “GONFIABILI” posizionati rispettivamente uno in autodromo, sulla Pit Line, ed un altro che troveremo più avanti nell’ultima tappa che ci vedrà raggiungere la località sul mare di San Leone.
Ultimate le sessioni in pista, ci siamo riuniti tutti nella sala riservata alle “Premiazioni” e qui, ogni partecipante al Meeting ha ricevuto una “Medaglia” commemorativa per la giornata in pista, un graditissimo gadget fornito dall’A.C.I. ed omaggiato ad ognuno dei partecipanti, consistente in un bellissimo auricolare bluetooth, e ad ogni Club partecipante è stata consegnata una targa ricordo in ringraziamento della loro partecipazione all’evento, al Dott. Salvatore BELLANCA dell’ A.C.I. ed al nostro consolidato Amico Dott. Michelangelo ROMANO per la straordinaria collaborazione alla riuscita dell’evento.
Una delegazione dei partecipanti esteri, tra cui il carissimo Andreas HARNISH, dopo un commovente discorso di ringraziamento per l’ottimo lavoro svolto dal Sicilia Smart Club per la realizzazione dello Smart family Meet 2024, ci ha donato una statuetta raffigurante un guerriero vichingo che riporta la dicitura “SMART SPIRIT SMARTFAMILY MEET”, ed è un riconoscimento che viene consegnato agli organizzatori meritevoli di tale omaggio.
Grande commozione quindi tra tutti i presenti, e da li raggiungiamo la tappa finale di questo bellissima Meeting, il Ristorante “IL CANALE” in località San Leone.
Li le auto sono state lasciate in esposizione nell’area appositamente predisposta dal Comune di Agrigento, dove ad attenderci c’era personale dell’A.C.I. con il secondo “GONFIABILE” installato sul posto, ed abbiamo effettuato l’ultimo pranzo di questo meeting che resterà indimenticabile nelle nostre menti e nei nostri cuori.
Al ristorante “IL CANALE” quindi abbiamo gustato le specialità locali appositamente preparate per noi dal carissimo “Elio SOLLANO” che unitamente al fratello Angelo ed al papa’ Alfonso sono sempre stati attentissimi ad ogni nostra esigenza, ed unitamente al loro chef ed al loro personale, hanno elaborato un particolare menù a base di pesce, che non poteva mancare come degno finale di questa avventura durata quattro giorni.
Un ringraziamento finale va ovviamente a tutti i partecipanti allo Smart Family Meet 2024, che hanno percorso tantissimi chilometri per raggiungerci nella nostra bellissima Sicilia, e permettere così la realizzazione di questo importantissimo evento internazionale che ha avuto grandissimo risalto sia sui canali radio e televisivi locali che sulla carta stampata.
E non in ultimo, un particolare ringraziamento da tutti noi al grandissimo “Egidio AMELIO” che ci ha seguito passo passo per tutta la durata di questo fantastico FAMILY MEET 2024 ed è l’autore di numerosissimi scatti e video che troverete in quest’album.

SMART FAMILY MEET 2024
The Smart Family Meet is the meeting of smart fans from European clubs and beyond, which takes place every year in a different country.
2024 saw Italy as the protagonist of the event, and in particular Sicily, in fact we had the “honor and burden” of organizing it here from 12 to 14 July between the provinces of Palermo and Agrigento, with a celebration of welcome for the participants which was held on Thursday 11 July at Contessa Entellina, home of our Club.
Day 1, 11 July 2024:
We start with the study and preparation of the gadgets relating to the meeting, in addition to the various inspections carried out in the places we then visited during the meeting.
We thank for the success of the day’s activities the Mayor of Contessa Entellina Dr. Leonardo SPERA, the City Councilor Dr. Alfonso COLLETTI and the Commander of the Municipal Police Chief Inspector Luciano AIOSA for their great availability and collaboration, the President of the local Pro Loco Alessandra SCIAMBRA and the secretary Giovanni ZARBA who with their very active participation allowed the preparation and serving of the tastings during the welcome party, and last but not least our thanks goes to the local companies who participated with their products, which we can include among the excellences of the territory, which everyone had the opportunity to taste, the COLLETTI, GIALLO and FILARI DELLA ROCCA wineries, the “AZIENDA AGRICOLA COSTIERE” dairies of the LALA brothers and the “FEUDO POLLICHINO”, the TERRE DI ENTELLA company, D’AGOSTINO Irene’s agricultural company which locally produces “SAFFRON”, the “DUA BUKE” bakery, the “6° SENSO” restaurant, and the other local businesses that have supported us, “DELIZIE SOTTOZERO”, “FERRAMENTA DA PAOLA”, the “BAR ENTELLA”, the tobacconist “D.M.” and the company “CONTESSA VACANZE BYRON”.
And further thanks go to the citizens of Contessa Entellina, who thanks to their vote allowed us to win the funding for Participatory Democracy 2023 which allowed us to hold the welcome party.
Day 2, 12 July 2024:
Meeting point of the day at the “Spiazzo Greco” where all the participants took a guided tour of the local “GREEK CHURCH” thanks to the support of the local association “VIVERE SLOW”whose president Dr. Antonino MONTALBANO we thank for his collaboration and Dr. Anna FUCARINO who excellently illustrated (both in Italian and in English) the habits and customs of our “Arbresche Community” (Contessa Entellina is a community of Albanian origins) and the unique particularities of the aforementioned church.
We then reached the Abbey of Santa Maria del Bosco, and also a guided tour of the beautiful monastery (in both languages).
Another transfer stop to reach the “CASEIFICIO PASINI” where Alessia PASINI and her staff welcomed us and made us taste the delicacies of their territory.
At the end of lunch, transfer to the town of “SAMBUCA”, elected “BORGO DEI BORGHI 2016) where thanks to the two guides (one in Italian and one in English) we took a very interesting journey to discover the artistic and museum masterpieces of the place and finally met the Mayor Dr. Giuseppe CACIOPPO and his staff who, in addition to welcoming the participants, offered them very welcome refreshments by tasting the typical local dessert “le minne di vergine” accompanied by excellent local wines.
Last stop of the day at the “ANTICO MULINO” restaurant where Enzo and his staff delighted us with a menu specially developed for the occasion.
Day 3, 13 July 2024:
Initial meeting point in the Municipality of CAMPOFIORITO. We were welcomed there by the Mayor Dr. Giuseppe ODDO and the City Councilor Tiziana CONTE, who offered us a very welcome refreshment based on drinks and delicious almond sweets handcrafted by the “CICIO” company and after an unfortunately very short visit to the center historic we moved to the city of CORLEONE.
The cars were exhibited in the main square of the city, where the Commander of the Local Police Dr. Leoluca CORTIMIGLIA with his men and women had already prepared a special area for the parking of the participating cars, and we carried out guided visits to the Civic Museum and the “Anti-Mafia Documentation Center” C.I.D.M.A. where the very expert guides (both in Italian and English) expertly transported us back in time, making us experience what happened at the time of the “mafia war” and the subsequent “Maxi Trial”, leaving the participants completely enthusiastic about the visit, and our particular thanks go to its President Dr. Claudio DI PALERMO, who enthusiastically supported us in organizing the visits.
Immediately afterwards inside the Palazzo di Città we were welcomed by the Mayor of CORLEONE, Dr. Walter RA, who also offered us a very welcome welcome snack based on local specialties and drinks.
After the meeting, on board our cars we crossed the entire historic center of the city and reached the “FEUDO POLLARA”, a very renowned winery called “PRINCIPE DI CORLEONE” where we carried out a very interesting guided tour of the cellar, here too both in Italian and English languages by learning this way all the steps relating to the production and bottling of their exquisite wines, with final tasting of the same accompanied by a tasting of typical local products with a full-bodied menu specially created for us by their chef whom we thank together with one of the owners of the company , Dr. Pietro POLLARA who collaborated extensively with us during all the phases that led to the realization of the visit.
We therefore committed ourselves to face the “longest transfer of the meeting”, and from the Principe di Corleone estate we reached the City of Agrigento, where the Mayor Dr. Francesco MICCICHE’ and the Councilor for Traffic Dr. Carmelo CANTONE who praised the initiative, thanking us for choosing the City of AGRIGENTO, which will be the Capital of Culture 2025 within our International Meeting.
Then, having exhibited our Smart cars in the central “Piazza MARCONI”, we were joined by the members of the “TAMMURA DI GIRGENTI” (Drums of Agrigento) Association, a very famous folklore group that has performed in many prestigious places in the world who welcomed us, giving us, agreed with Dr. Carmelo CANTONE for their exclusive performance first on the stage and then among our cars and our thanks go to their President Biagio LICATA.
Last small transfer to reach the Hotel TRE TORRI in Villaggio Mose, where both dinner and overnight stay were organized for all participants, and a small party with live music by the pool after dinner, and a special thank you for the their exquisite availability and courtesy goes to Dr. Paolo PULLARA and his staff, headed by the very kind Gioacchino who personally took care of all the reservations together with their staff.
Day 4, 14 July 2024:
From the Hotel TRE TORRI in Villaggio Moses we reach the town of “RACALMUTO” where “L’AUTODROMO DEL SOLE” also known as “AUTODROMO VALLE DEI TEMPLI” is located and there waiting for us is our now consolidated collaborator of the Sicilia Smart Club for what concerns our annual track meetings.
Our dearest “Friend” Dr. Michelangelo ROMANO made sure we had everything ready, from the garages set up for our cars to everything that would be needed shortly thereafter for our day on the track, and after having collected and installed on the cars the “TRANSPODER” for recording times on the track, we had fun riding around the circuit.
The other partners of the event were present on site, the President of the Automobile Club Italia, Dr. Salvatore BELLANCA and the Director Dr. Giusy DANILE who with their staff have arranged for the presence of two “INFLATABLES” positioned respectively one in the racetrack, on the Pit Line, and another that we will find later in the last stage which will see us reach the seaside town of San Leone.
Once the sessions on the track were over, we all gathered in the room reserved for the “Awards” and here, each participant in the Meeting received a commemorative “Medal” for the day on the track, a very welcome gadget provided by the A.C.I. and given as a gift to each of the participants, consisting of a beautiful Bluetooth headset, and each participating Club was given a souvenir plaque in thanks for their participation in the event, to Dr. Salvatore BELLANCA of the A.C.I. and to our consolidated friend Dr. Michelangelo ROMANO for his extraordinary collaboration in the success of the event.
A delegation of foreign participants, including the dear Andreas HARNISH, after a moving speech of thanks for the excellent work carried out by the Sicilia Smart Club for the creation of the Smart family Meet 2024, donated us a statuette depicting a Viking warrior which shows the wording “SMART SPIRIT SMARTFAMILY MEET”, and it is a recognition that is given to the organizers deserving of this tribute.
Great emotion therefore among all those present, and from there we reach the final stage of this beautiful Meeting, the “IL CANALE” restaurant in San Leone.
There the cars were left on display in the area specially set up by the Municipality of Agrigento, where A.C.I. staff were waiting for us. with the second “INFLATABLE” installed on site, and we had the last lunch of this meeting which will remain unforgettable in our minds and hearts.
At the “IL CANALE” restaurant we then tasted the local specialties specially prepared for us by the dear “Elio SOLLANO” who together with his brother Angelo and his father Alfonso have always been very attentive to our every need, and together with their chef and their staff , have developed a particular fish-based menu, which could not be missing as a worthy finale to this four-day adventure.
A final thank you obviously goes to all the participants in the Smart Family Meet 2024, who traveled many kilometers to reach us in our beautiful Sicily, and thus allow the realization of this very important international event which had great prominence both on local radio and television channels and on printed paper.
And last but not least, a special thank you from all of us to the great “Egidio AMELIO” who followed us step by step for the entire duration of this fantastic FAMILY MEET 2024 and is the author of numerous shots and videos that you will find in this album.
